Rubber Grip Applicator

£11.99 GBP
Description & Size Guide

Ideal easy and fast fitting for new replacement and multiple cricket bat handle rubber grips. Compatible with all rubber bat grips. Alternately, make your handle thicker by fitting multiple grips. Great if you have large hands, or prefer a handle with a greater diameter during play.

Tip Diameter: 2 cm. Base Diameter: 4.5 cm. Length: 41 cm. Weight: 0.23 kg. Suitable for all sizes of cricket bat grip fitting.

FITTING - STEP 1 - Turn your new rubber grip upside down and feed the end of the grip that will be at the top of the bat handle over the narrow end of the grip cone as far along the grip cone as possible. Once you've done this and the grip is on the cone, roll the rubber grip back on itself and back off the narrow end of the grip cone.

FITTING - STEP 2 - Then turn the grip round again and feed the section of grip that has not been rolled into a thick ring back over the narrow end of the cone. This time, continue rolling the grip over unrolled section down the grip towards the wide end of the cone.

FITTING STEP 3 - Once the grip is completely rolled and near the wide end of the cone, place the wide end of the cone over the top of the handle of your bat and roll the grip off the cone onto your bat handle.

FITTING STEP 4 - Continue to roll the grip down the handle towards the bat’s shoulders and when the grip is towards the bottom of the handle, near the shoulders/splice region, start unrolling the grip back up the handle.

FITTING STEP 5 - You might then need to fine tune the exact alignment and positioning of the grip once on the bat handle, and trim any excess. (Repeat steps 1 to 5 if you require a ‘second grip’ fitted over the first).

Custom Bat Shapes

Type 1 - The mid to low sweet spot is great for players who love to play shots in the V and through the cover, and the larger sweet spot also aids aggressive players

Type 2

A great shape that has a mid to low sweet spot with the spine running through the toe, and the wood more evenly distributed across the bat.

Type 3

It has a low middle which ensures you have sufficient power in the lower third of the bat. If you are aggressive, or a batter who mostly hits front foot shots, this maybe for you

Type 4

Type 4 This profile bat suits players with fast hands, and mainly back foot shots. More importantly, the profile has a high middle which suits players that play on fast and bouncy tracks.

Type 5 Convex

Looking for a powerful big hitter profile? This may be the shape for you. This has the same profile as the Type 1 but is a convex shape. Please note the lowest weight for these bats is 2:10

English Willow Grading

Grade 4

Grade Four bats often have more than half the blade with red wood or natural "butterfly" staining.

Made from good quality willow, they perform well but have fewer grains and more visible knots, blemishes, and specks.

Many feature bleached willow, which reduces the visibility of marks and gives a cleaner appearance.

Performance is unaffected; grading is based on appearance.

Grade 3

Grade Three bats are made from very good quality willow, offering a balance between performance and appearance.

They are popular and provide great value for money, often produced in large quantities.

Up to half of the blade may have colored wood, with small knots or specks, and at least five grains on the face.

Performance is not affected; grading is based on appearance.

Grade 2

Grade Two bats are made from high-quality willow and perform similarly to Grade One bats.

They have at least six visible grains, with occasional knots or blemishes.

More red wood may appear towards the edge of the blade compared to Grade One.

Performance is unaffected; grading is based on appearance.

Grade One

Grade One bats are made from top-quality willow selected for both performance and appearance.

They typically feature at least six straight, visible grains on the face.

Some red wood may appear on the edge, with occasional knots or specks on the edge or back, but the playing surface remains clean.

Performance is not affected; grading is based on looks.

Warranty

Cricket bats will endure wear and tear due to the natural properties of willow, which can only handle limited stress and strain.

The bat’s lifespan depends on the frequency of use, with more frequent use leading to quicker breakage.

Cobra Cricket bats come with a 12-month warranty, while non-Cobra bats have a 6-month warranty.

Common damages not covered by the warranty include toe damage, edge impacts, water/moisture damage, and damage from low-quality or colored balls.

Proper preparation, such as knocking-in the bat, is essential. Failure to prepare the bat voids the warranty.

Bats used without being properly knocked-in or prepared will not be eligible for warranty coverage.

If claiming warranty, customers must email images of the damage for assessment, but inward postage costs are not covered.

The cause of damage will be assessed based on the nature of damage, general condition, and maintenance.

If the bat is damaged by player-inflicted causes and no material flaw is found, repair work will be chargeable.

Proper bat care and maintenance are crucial for performance and durability; Cobra emphasizes this as the owner's responsibility.
